Blueberry Cinnamon Rolls
For a more indulgent breakfast or brunch, this twist on cinnamon rolls with blueberries is on trend for 2025.
Ingredients (approx):
1 batch of cinnamon roll dough (I use store bought)
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (if frozen, thaw & drain)
¼ cup butter, melted
⅓ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar ( I usually use coconut sugar to cut calories and sugar spikes)
2 tsp ground cinnamon
For frosting: ½ cup cream cheese, 2-3 Tbsp powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, splash of milk
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and grease a baking dish.
Roll out the dough, brush with melted butter. Sprinkle brown sugar + cinnamon evenly over dough. Scatter blueberries over top.
Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls (about 8-10). Place into the baking dish.
Bake for ~25-30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
While baking, prepare frosting: beat together cream cheese + powdered sugar + vanilla + milk until smooth.
When rolls are done, remove from oven, let sit ~5 minutes, then drizzle frosting over warm rolls.
Serve warm with extra blueberries if desired.
Tip: These are great for a special weekend breakfast or brunch with guests. Caution: They go fast!
